Born April 2, 1945, in Tallahassee, Florida, he was the son of Walter Lurman Kuhn and Eva Vasti Dennis Kuhn. He was a graduate of F.D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park.

Walt was a driver for United Parcel Service for over fourteen years before founding Stat Construction in 1981. He retired in 2015.

Walt was proud to be a longtime member of Alcoholics Anonymous and a devout member of Cornerstone Bible Fellowship Church, Clinton. In both capacities, he dedicated his life to helping and healing many people along the way.

In 1982, he married the former Carolyn T. Brown, his wife and loving partner of thirty-six years who predeceased him in 2018.

Survivors include his three children, Debra N. (John) Slizewski, Lisa Keto, and David (Elizabeth) Kuhn, their mother, Beverly Lord; step-son, David (Maria) Brown; grandchildren, Ashley, Rebecca, Joshua, Cori, Raquel, and Mateo; and great-grandchildren, Caiden and Addison.

His extended family includes Lauren Lyon, Marilyn (Buzz) Wykoff, John Dale (Linda) Kuhn, Brian (Patricia) Quinn, and their families.
