Virginia Rose Perry, 85, a lifelong area resident of Poughkeepsie, New York died on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital of Westchester Med. Center with her family by her side.

Born, May 20, 1937, in Poughkeepsie she was the daughter of the late Frank Simpson and Glady Hopkins Simpson.

Virginia worked as a housekeeper for Vassar Hospital for many years before going to work for A & P Supermarket, where she worked as a cashier for over 20 years before her retirement.

On, April 23, 1955, she married James Perry, Mr. Perry predeceased her on September 16th, 1989.

Virginia enjoyed catering parties with her husband, playing cards, bowling, and more recently doing puzzle books.

She is survived by her five children: James Perry and wife Mary Ellen, Diane Funk and husband Jim, Brenda Perry, William Perry and wife Tracy, and Kevin Perry.

She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren.

Along with her husband she was also predeceased by her son, John Perry.

A Graveside Service will be at 10 AM on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Union Cemetery, 1076 Violet Avenue, Hyde Park, NY.
