Hyde Park – Vincent P. Curcio, 73, of Hyde Park, lost his battle with cancer on Friday, May 21, 2021, at the Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie.
Born August 28, 1947 in the Bronx, he was the son of Vincent and Ann DiLorenzo Curcio. He moved to the Hudson Valley in 1977.
Vinny (or "Butchie" as he was affectionately known to family) always put his family first and his beloved NY Yankees a close second.
With a work ethic like no other, it was not uncommon for him to simultaneously work several jobs to support his family. Vinny was definitely a hard worker!
Most recently, he delivered auto parts for Auto Parts International in LaGrange, retiring early in March 2020 due to the pandemic.
On April 19, 1969 in the Bronx, he married the former Josephine Zanchelli. His wife of fifty-two years survives at home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Kristy Curcio, of Hyde Park; son, Vincent Curcio, and wife, Vaishali, of Staatsburg; three grandchildren, Jonathan Kahrs, and Briahna and Tyler Curcio.
He is also survived by an older sister, Antonette Janus, of New Jersey; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Curcio, and sister, Mary Gabriele.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, Tuesday, May 25th at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Michael Morris at 10AM, Wednesday, May 26th at Regina Coeli Church, Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
Masks will be required for all those who are unvaccinated.
Burial will be in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the Curcio family respectfully requests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 132 W. 32nd St., NY, NY 10001.
