Vera C. McCurty, 80, a lifelong area resident, died on March 30, 2023, at Vassar Bros. Medical Center, Poughkeepsie.

Born December 15, 1942, in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of Benjamin J. and Vera C. Bogart MacLarion.

Vera worked as a Clerk for the New York State Judicial System for several years, retiring in 2008.

Her hobbies included crafting and making homemade jewelry. She took joy in sharing the things she made with her family and friends.

On May 5, 1988, in Poughkeepsie, she married Gregory S. McCurty. Mr. McCurty survives at home.

Along with her husband, survivors include her daughter, Michele 'De' Butler and husband, Craig; son, Kenneth Trainor and wife, Kelli; daughter-in-law, Luanne Trainor; and step-daughter, Erin McCurty.

Grandchildren include Tristan LeBeouf and husband, Ron, Zach Trainor and wife, Sydney, Steven and Paul Trainor, and Ben, Alex, and Amy Trainor.

She is also survived by three great grandchildren, Jaxson LeBeouf, Greyson Patin, and Owen Trainor; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Vera was predeceased by her son, Michael Trainor; sisters, Dora, Roberta, Thelma, and Alice; and brother Ben.

In keeping with Vera's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal funeral services.

In lieu of flowers, the McCurty family respectfully request memorial donations to the charity or organization that you feel best honors Vera's memory.
