Terrilee Smith, a longtime Poughkeepsie resident, passed away peacefully at home on October 1, 2023, with her family by her side.

Born June 14, 1946, in Tupper Lake, NY, she was the daughter of Donn and Catherine (Higgins) Christy. She was a 1964 graduate of F. D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park.

Mrs. Smith was a Teacher's Aide with Abilities First for many years until her retirement.

Terrilee enjoyed traveling, especially cruises. She also liked to spend time and go on adventures with her "Hyde Park Senior Girlfriends." She was a member of Rogers Point Boat Club, Hyde Park.

In 1965 in Hyde Park, she married David Smith Sr. He predeceased her in 2009.

Survivors include her daughter, Saundra Houston, and husband, William; son, David Smith Jr., and wife, Meghan Goldsbary; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brother, Donn Christy; sister, Sharon Newling; and several nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by her beloved beagle, Angel "Not."

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Bruce Christy.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Terrilee's life is being planned and will be announced shortly.
