The angels came to take Susan Helen Bowman home on April 18th 2026.

Born on May 16, 1952, in Queens, Susan was the daughter of the late Francis Joseph Kennedy and Irma Bechtoldt Kennedy.

She was employed for many years as an administrator with Vankleek & Winnie Life Insurance in Rhinebeck.

On November 2, 1996, in the City of Poughkeepsie, she married the love of her life, John Bowman, who survives her at home.

Susan was known for her warm heart and deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures. She loved dogs and found joy in watching game shows, especially Jeopardy!

She also loved spending quiet mornings on the porch with a cup of coffee, and with her husband by her side. Known for her "heart of gold," Susan also cared for animals often donating to the Dutchess County SPCA. She treasured time with family, especially enjoying outings with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, tending to her flowers, and going for drives.

Along with her husband, Susan is survived by her grandchildren; David Millington and wife Josely, and Tafari Nelson. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Davion Millington, Juliana Milllington, Janessa Millington and Tafari Nelson.

In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, Susan's family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to American Cancer Society 2678 South Rd. Suite 103, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601, or the Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Ave. Hyde Park, NY 12538.
