Sherry L. Wood, 62, a lifelong area resident, died Saturday, January 7, 2023, at home with her husband by her side.

Born September 25, 1960, in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of Gerald and Linda Wagner Plass. Her parents both predeceased her.

Over the years, Sherry held many jobs, most recently at the Victory Lake Nursing Center in Hyde Park. She had to retire early due to her health.

On June 17, 1995, in Hyde Park, she married Patrick H. Wood. Mr. Wood survives at home.

Sherry loved her family. She was an excellent mother to her son, Frank Hildwin; and dedicated nanny to her granddaughters, Morgan and Hazel Hildwin, all of Poughkeepsie.

She is also survived by a step-daughter, step-son, many step-grandchildren; and many other family and friends.

She was predeceased by a brother.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 PM, Thursday, January 12th at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Route 9, Hyde Park.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place at the convenience of the family.
