Sandra "Sandy"
Hackford
Aug 26, 1946 — Mar 31, 2026
Sandra C. Hackford, 79, of Hyde Park, and formerly of Falmouth Maine, Great Falls Montana, and Cape May Court House New Jersey passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at home.
Born on August 26, 1946, in Southampton, NY, Sandy was the daughter of the late Sayles Clark and Thelma Clark.
On December 20, 1969, in Glen Cove, New York, she married the love of her life, Robert Hackford.
After moving to Montana in 1992, accompanying her husband during his career, Sandy went to work at the Great Falls Clinic, in Montana, as a Registered Dietician in the Diabetes Education Program. During her time out west, she developed a deep love for the natural beauty of the region. She especially enjoyed hiking and photographing wildflowers, passions she carried with her throughout her life.
After moving back to New York, Sandy embraced the rich history of the area. She enjoyed visiting the local historic sites, attending local programs, and exploring many of the nearby gardens. She found joy in gardening, attending concerts and musicals, and taking her daily walks—no matter the weather. Sandy, or "Bubba" as she was affectionately known, also loved attending athletic events and school ceremonies for her three grandchildren; and she enjoyed going on many adventures with them to museums, parks and sporting events throughout NYC.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Robert; her daughter, Robyn O'Sullivan and her husband Mike; and her cherished grandchildren, Michael, Claire, and Robby. She is also survived by her older sister, Lynda Stolz; her twin brothers, Keith Clark and his wife Judy, and Kent Clark and his wife Anne; her younger sister, Jennifer Banfield and her husband, Scott; and many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Hyde Park. To send an online condolence, please visit www.sweetsfuneralhome.com.
