Obituary

Sandra Lee Lee, affectionately known as Lee Lee, a beacon of love and warmth, passed away unexpectedly on January 22, 2024, at home in the Town of Clinton where she resided with her sister Gussie and brother-in-law, Stephen. Born on September 7, 1956, in Poughkeepsie, NY, Lee Lee was a cherished daughter of the late Earl Veach and Gussie Lewis. She lived a life marked by devotion to her loved ones and an infectious passion for the simple joys of life.

Lee Lee was the beloved former spouse of Joseph Lee and a nurturing mother to Rebekah Dietterick (married to Richard Lauver) and Joseph Lee IV. Her legacy extends through her adored grandchildren, James Dietterick, Nevina Dietterick (Aidan Smith), Destiny Hopkins, Connor Hopkins, and Kaleb Lauver, and her treasured great-grandchildren, Carter Lee, Isak Smith, Greycen Smith, and Baby Harper. She was a loving sister to her late sister Nancy Veach, Sharon Speed and husband Chris, Earl Veach Jr and wife Debbie, Richard Veach, Gussie O'Dell and husband Stephen, Carl Veach and wife Patty, Lisa Veach, and Tammy Rifenburgh and husband Bill. She is also survived by her nieces, Sherry and Valerie. Lee Lee also held a special place in her heart for her many other nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, who will all deeply miss her presence.

Professionally, Lee Lee was a dedicated receptionist at Caremount Medical, where she greeted everyone with a warm smile and a kind word. Her colleagues will remember her as a beacon of positivity in the workplace. Lee Lee's interests reflected her loving nature; she found immense joy in spending time with her family, playing with her great grandchildren, and creating beautiful diamond paintings. Her hobbies were not mere pastimes but extensions of her love, serving as avenues to bond with and bring happiness to those around her.

In every facet of life, Lee Lee was loving, passionate, and thoughtful. Her ability to listen with an open heart and offer support was unparalleled, and her guidance was a source of comfort to many. The words of Helen Keller, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart," resonate profoundly when remembering Lee Lee's impact on the world. She embodied this sentiment, touching the hearts of all who knew her with her unending compassion and kindness.

Lee Lee's presence was a gift to those who knew her, and her memory will continue to inspire love and thoughtfulness. Her life was a testament to the power of nurturing relationships and cherishing every moment with those we hold dear. As we bid farewell to Lee Lee, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a spirit that will forever be felt in the lives she touched.

We honor the memory of Sandra Lee Lee, a woman of grace and benevolence, whose life was a tapestry woven with the love of her family, the respect of her colleagues, and the affection of her friends. Her laughter and love, her wisdom and warmth, will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her. Lee Lee's journey on this earth has concluded, but the light she brought into our lives will continue to shine bright and guide us. Rest in peace, dear Lee Lee, knowing that your legacy of love will endure for generations to come.
