Hyde Park, NY  Samuel A. Sanfilippo, 94, of Hyde Park, died on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital, Oneonta, NY.  Born on July 4, 1927, in New Rochelle, NY, he was the son of Vito Sanfilippo and Catherine Milazzo Sanfilippo.  On July 12, 1953, he married the love of his life, Irene Mary Galasso at St. Joseph's Church, New Rochelle, NY.  Irene died on December 3, 2020. Sam proudly served his country in the United States Army and then reenlisted with the United States Air Force.  He served from 1945 to 1953 and then continued his service in the reserves.  He retired from Gries Dynacast Co., Yorktown Heights, NY, as an inspector of precision components.   He is survived by his two sons, Michael J. Sanfilippo and wife, Nanci J. and Thomas M. Sanfilippo and wife, Andrea A. Pasquale, six grandchildren, Michael Sanfilippo Jr., John Sanfilippo, Anthony Sanfilippo, Sandi Dial, Jessi Sanfilippo, Valeri Percival, eleven great-grandchildren,  Shayla Lauby, Jane Sanfilippo, Jenna Sanfilippo, Natalie Dial, Zachary Dial, Benjamin Dial, Dylan Shugg, Abigail Percival, Annabelle Percival, Arianna Sanfilippo, Elias Sanfilippo; and two great great grandchildren; Carson Ray England and Sophia Grace England.   In addition to his wife, Irene, and parents, he is predeceased by a grandson, Raymond Sanfilippo.  Friends and relatives may call from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park.  A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 7, 2022, at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel of St. Peter's Parish, 185 Hudson View Dr., Poughkeepsie, NY.  Entombment will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery with military honors.   Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park.  To send an online condolence, or for directions, please visit www.sweetsfuneralhome.com .
