Obituary

Robert "Bobby" Mason, 51, of Poughkeepsie, passed away on August 9, 2026. Born March 25, 1975, he was the son of Gregory J. Mason Sr. and Patricia (Smith) Mason.

Bobby was a master mechanic who spent his life working with his hands. He was truly gifted at what he did, and there was very little he could not fix. When something seemed impossible, Bobby had a way of figuring it out.

That ability extended far beyond his work. Bobby seemed to possess an extraordinary ability to make his way through even the most difficult situations. Those closest to him came to believe that, no matter how bad things became, somehow Bobby would find a way through and make things better. He was someone people could count on when things went wrong.

Tough as nails but with a heart of gold, Bobby loved his family more than anything. He would sacrifice whatever he had to make sure the people he loved were taken care of. His family was what he lived for, and their happiness mattered more to him than his own.

Bobby also had a lifelong passion for fireworks. Over the years, he had the opportunity to shoot professional fireworks displays for various companies, something he truly loved. His Fourth of July displays were second to none and became something family and friends always looked forward to.

Some of the greatest joy in Bobby's life came from being a grandfather. Whether it was spending time together or taking his grandchildren trick-or-treating, those moments reflected how much he treasured his family and the memories they made together.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Dana (Fischetti) Mason; his children, Jessica, Sarah, and Michael; his grandchildren, Greyson, Owen, and Adelaide; and his siblings, Steven, Marianne, Gregory, Kathleen, and John, as well as many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss him.
