Robert H. (Bob) Marks, Jr. 91, passed away on April 12, 2024, in Poughkeepsie. He had been a resident of Hyde Park since 1998.

Born on August 21, 1932, in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Robert H. Marks, Sr. and Mary E. Keyes Marks. Robert graduated from the former South Side High School in Newark, NJ in 1950 and attended Rutgers University.

He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served from 1952 to 1955 during the Korean conflict.

A Corporate Director of Planning for Purolator Products, Inc. of Rahway, NJ, he retired in 1997 at their corporate offices in Tulsa, OK after 42 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Carol A. Harry and her husband, Gregory, his grandchildren, Daniel and Samantha Harry, and his niece, Sandra Spielvogel and her husband, Jay.

He was predeceased by his wife, Hildegarde Gersitz Marks; his son, Robert A. Marks; his companion, Joann Palfi; and his sister, Joan A. Barsamian.

Bob played in most sports as a youngster and like to tell the story of growing up directly across the street from the 3rd hole of the Weequahic Park Golf Course in Newark, NJ. He started to caddy in the summer at age 12 and was still playing golf at age 90.

Funeral services were private.
