Robert J. Duncan, 87, a longtime resident of Hyde Park, NY and formerly of Springfield, MA, died peacefully at home on April 15, 2023.

Born December 8, 1935, in Springfield, MA, he was the son of William and Mary Leahy Duncan.

He attended the Arlington Grade School in Poughkeepsie, and in Springfield, he attended Sacred Heart School, the Technical High School (Fabulous Class of 1953), and the American International College.

Bob worked at the former Western Publishing in Poughkeepsie for thirty years as Budget Director. After Western, he worked in microchip development for IBM in Fishkill for approximately ten years before retiring. In his retirement, Bob was a part-time delivery driver for the former Green Oak Florist in Hyde Park and enjoyed watching his beloved Boston Red Sox.

Bob was a vivid "friend of Bill W." and set a perfect example of perseverance and guidance. His loving family will miss his humor and companionship at all future family events.

Survivors include his twin brother, William H. Duncan III; and nieces and nephews, Darlene Duncan, Christopher Duncan, Brian Duncan, Denise Royer, Doreen Rosenberg, Maureen Goddard, and Jennifer Kroczewski.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Doreen Longtin and sister-in-law, Dolores M. Duncan.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place.

A period of visitation will take place from 10 AM to 12 Noon, Saturday, April 22nd at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held at 11:30 AM during the visitation.
