Richard Dennis
Lloyd
Jul 16, 1948 — Oct 3, 2025
Richard "Richie" Dennis Lloyd, 77, of Red Hook, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, New York.
Born on July 16, 1948, in Yonkers, NY, he was the son of the late Kenneth Lloyd and Josephine Casalbore Lloyd.
He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1968-1972.
Richie was a hardworking and determined man who took pride in everything he did. He especially enjoyed making people smile and laugh – whether it was while working at Hannaford's in Red Hook or Del's Roadside Creamery where he often rode his bicycle to work. Through the years, Richie ventured into many different jobs, including working in bowling alleys and managing a snack bar. He also owned several businesses, including an arcade and vending machine business, a slot car racing shop, and an airport shuttle service.
When he wasn't working, Richie made occasional trips to visit friends in Florida and anywhere else where he could find sunshine and a swimming pool. He also enjoyed model train sets, watching movies and listening to country music.
He is survived by his children, Amy Molloy and her husband Rich, Rick Lloyd and partner Jose, Matt Lloyd and wife Rene.
He is also survived by his grandchildren: Rachel, John, Ben, Joya, Pablo, Sophia, and Quinton; his brother Kenny Lloyd; and several nieces and nephews. Richie's family is especially grateful to his longtime friend, Tom Bogue, who was loyal in his friendship and steadfast in his support.
Along with his parents, Richard was predeceased by his brother, Michael Lloyd.
