Poughkeepsie, NY Raymond J. Bressette, age 81 of Poughkeepsie, passed away on August 26, 2022. Born to Raymond L. Bressette and Mary Ellen Bressette (Carr) in Syracuse, NY, the family moved to Hyde Park during his childhood and Ray would later move to Poughkeepsie with his wife and children. Proudly serving in the US Air Force from 1961 – 1965, he received several letters of commendation for his outstanding service. On February 19, 1966, he married Linda D. Tucker, who predeceased him in 2018. Ray worked for and retired from IBM shortly after becoming a part of the Quarter Century Club. After retirement, he continued to work and found great joy particularly as a bus driver for A&E Transportation. An avid bowler in his younger years and a sports fan all his life, most notably the NY Jets and the NY Mets, his favorite assignment as a bus driver was transporting for various high school sports teams and watching their games. His most recent employment was with RGIS Inventory. Ray is survived by his daughters, Lisa Bressette and her partner John Owen, Trish Sackett and her husband Scott, grandchildren Joshua, Sabrina, and Brooke, sister Mary Lasagni, brother Roger Bressette and his wife Debbie, along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Jim Bressette. Relatives and friends may call from 12pm to 1pm on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park. Funeral services will begin at 1pm followed by interment at Union Cemetery, Hyde Park, with military honors by the USAF.
