Peter E. Freiermuth, 84, a longtime resident of Hyde Park, died peacefully at home on Friday, June 11, 2021, with his family by his side.  Born June 23, 1936 in Queens, he was the son of Walter and Regina Roesel Freiermuth.    He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1958 to 1962.  Peter worked for IBM in Poughkeepsie for over thirty years until his retirement. In his retirement years, he was a Regional Volunteer Tax Aide and Trainer for AARP.     When he was not helping people with their taxes, he could often be found in his garden.  On June 23, 1957 in Warrensburg, NY, he married the former Linda Smith, and they were happily married for over 60 years. Mrs. Freiermuth predeceased him on June 21, 2019.  A devoted father and grandfather, family was very important to him and he loved being the "family photographer".  Survivors include his three sons, Peter J. Freiermuth and wife, Laura, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Kevin Freiermuth and wife, Ruth, of Cobleskill, and Jonathan Freiermuth and partner, Catya Belfer, of Middlefield, Massachusetts; thirteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Helene Cole, of Cobleskill; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his son, David; and brother, Glenn Freiermuth.  In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place.
