Paul J. Swenson, 73, of Salt Point, NY, passed away unexpectedly on April 5, 2022, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Born on June 11, 1948, in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of the late Donald J. Swenson and Marie (Nelson) Swenson. After graduating from Roy C. Ketcham High School in 1966, Paul proudly served in the United States Marine Corp as an Aviation Surveillance Radar Repairman until 1970. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant, having been awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and a Rifle Marksmanship Badge. On August 10, 1980, Paul married Kathy J. Clinch at Mills Mansion in Staatsburg, NY. They lived in Hyde Park, NY briefly before moving into their family's ancestral home in Salt Point in 1992. Paul was recently retired after 37 years of dedicated service as an electrical technician for the United States Postal Service in New Windsor, NY. He took pride in his dutifully maintained lawns and garden and made a habit of walking the neighborhood daily, rain or shine, befriending all the local dogs in the process. Paul was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; his children, Ashley and Curtis (Jessica); and granddaughter, Mackenzie.
