Patrica M. Weiss passed away surrounded by her loving family and friends after a long illness on October 29, 2024. Patricia was 72 years old, born on July 9, 1952 in Jersey City to Carmine and Estelle Sacco, grew up in Middletown, NY with her sister Jackie and brother Steven, and raised her own family in Hyde Park, NY.

Patti had a Masters in education, which she earned at SUNY Cortland. She owned her own gymnastics business until she found her true calling in education for Hyde Park Central School District, where she worked for well over 20 years, and was well loved by students, faculty, and staff. After retirement, Patricia spent time doing secretary/bookkeeping work for her lifetime partner, Ed Fikis.

Pat loved her students, family, friends, b-horror movies, laughing, gardening, precious puggies Boris and Bruno, and making people feel loved, happy, heard, and well-fed.

Patricia is survived by her son Gerard Weiss, daughter Michele Weiss, soulmate Ed Fikis, and brother Steven.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hudson Valley Hospice House, who took loving care of our sweet Patricia in her final days. (hvhospice.org)

Family and friends are welcome to attend visitation on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 4-6pm at Sweets Funeral Home located at 4365 Albany Post Road, Hyde Park, NY 12538. A brief ceremony will follow the visitation at 6pm.
