Patricia A. Martin, 79, of Hyde Park, died on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Renaissance Rehab & Nursing Care Center, Hyde Park, NY.

Born on Thursday, October 28, 1943, in Orwell, VT, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Eleanor Sibley Downey.

On September 29, 1961, in Whiting, Vermont, she married Clarence R. Martin. Clarence died on May 27, 1981.

Patricia worked for The Fountains at Millbrook as a LPN prior to retiring. She was previously employed by Shoprite in Carmel, NY, as bakery manager.

Patricia enjoyed playing BINGO.

Surviving are five sons, Barry J. Martin, Pleasant Valley, NY; Ralph L. Martin, Hyde Park, NY; Brian L. Martin, Pleasant Valley, NY; Randy S. (Jody) Martin, Salt Point, NY; and Jon P. Martin, Poughkeepsie, NY; her brother, Edward Downey, East Burke, VT, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and great nieces & great nephews, as well as Carl Osckasy, Pleasant Valley; Charlie Erts, Union Vale, NY, both of whom were like sons to her.

Relatives and friends may call from 4pm to 6:30pm on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park. Funeral services will begin at 6:30 PM, with the Rev. Arlene Dawber, officiating. Cremation will take place at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in the family plot at Freedom Plains Cemetery, Lagrangeville, NY.
