Miriam Douglass, 83, a resident of Poughkeepsie, passed away on December 12, 2022.

Born in Poughkeepsie on August 30, 1939, she was the daughter of Howard and Amie Robinson.

Miriam was predeceased by her husband Charles Douglass in 1991, and her son, Charles Douglass Jr. in 2010. Miriam was also predeceased by three brothers Kenneth, Gordon and Carson Robinson, and by three sisters, Vivian Dipompei, Andrea Murr and Faye Robinson.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Dan Ferrari of Poughkeepsie; three sons Gordon Douglass of Pleasant Valley, Kevin (Faye) Douglass of North Carolina and Scott (Penny) Douglass of Poughkeepsie, sister Phyllis Barrett of Poughkeepsie, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren she adored along with several nieces and nephews.

In 1991, Miriam moved to Florida to be close to the ocean and beach. She liked taking walks on the beach, listening to the waves, and collecting shells. She really enjoyed listening to music and going to concerts and dancing - especially to 50's music and country line dancing for many years. She looked forward to sailing on Sterling Casino Boats and traveling across the United States.

Miriam was an active member of the Moose Lodge. She shared many fond memories of the Moose Club with her family. Above all, Miriam's passion was spending time with her loving family as often as she could.

Relatives and friends may call from 5pm to 8pm on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park. Graveside services will begin at 11am on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Union Cemetery, Hyde Park. Condolences may be made to the family at www.sweetsfuneralhome.com.
