Mildred "Millie" Whiteley, 74, of Staatsburg, died unexpectedly on Friday, March 11, 2022, at home. Born, July 10, 1947 in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late James W. and Mary E. VanEtten Simpson. Millie was a caregiver for many years, helping others in there time of need at while being able to give them the care and comfort they needed at their own home. On March 2nd, 1985, she married Christopher Whiteley, he predeceased her in 2012. When not working she could often be found fishing, camping, and hanging out with everyone in the trailer park she lived in. Millie is survived by Theresa Dedrick who she shared a special bond with and considered her daughter; her siblings Emily Wiley and husband William, Susan Lown and husband Butch, Robert Simpson and wife Susan, and Steve Berryann. She is also survived y her nieces, Linda, Sandy, and Cindy, and her nephews, Mark and Adam Simpson. Along with her parents and husband she was also predeceased by her siblings, Mary Craig, Helen Senk, Richard Simpson, and her twin brother James Simpson. The family would also like to extend a special thank you, to Millies longtime aid Denise. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial calling hours will be from 5pm to 7pm, on Wednesday, March 23rd at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte 9, Hyde Park, NY 12538.
