Michael Murray Clark, 71, formerly of Hopewell Junction and more recently of Oakland, California, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Highland Hospital in Oakland, California.

Born on June 26, 1955, in Poughkeepsie, New York, he was the son of the late Charles Clark and Mary Marinan Clark.

Michael spent many years as a self-employed painter, taking pride in his work and the relationships he built throughout his career. In his younger years, he enjoyed dirt-bike riding with his friends through the fields surrounding his home. He was known for his quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and playful personality. A natural jokester, Michael had a remarkable ability to make those around him laugh and was a delight to be around. His easygoing nature and warm spirit left a lasting impression on family and friends alike.

On February 14, 1976, Michael married Joan Henshaw. Although their marriage came to a close, they remained lifelong friends, a testament to the enduring respect and affection they shared throughout the years.

Michael is survived by his lifelong friend, Joan Clark-Lloyd; his son, Jeffrey Clark; his "stepdaughter", Stephanie Lloyd, his loving sisters, Katherine Flis and Susan Sonneberger, and many nieces and nephews.

Michael was predeceased by his beloved son, Shawn Clark, in 2005; his brother, Charles Edward Clark; and both his parents.

Burial will be private at the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery.
