Obituary

Mary Ann Taylor, 74, a life-long resident of Dutchess County, passed away on October 27, 2022, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.

Born July 29, 1948, in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of Charles D. and Ann M. Hammes Lambertson.

On November 6, 1965, in Poughkeepsie, she married the true love of her life, Donald Taylor. Her husband survives at home.

Mary was the most loving and caring wife and mother anyone could ask for. Her family is what she lived for. Whether you were family, friend, or stranger, she gave of herself generously and selflessly. She instilled compassion, humor, and moral values in her children that will last them a lifetime.

Mary was the family "encyclopedia." It did not matter where you grew on the family tree, she knew every date of birth, anniversary, and death of every leaf.

She loved all holidays and showed it by decorating from New Year's Day to Christmas with every holiday in between. Her hobby was collecting holiday decorations.

Her family will treasure every memory of their wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt forever. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Mary Witherwax (Roland); sons, Donald Taylor Jr. (Melanie Campbell), Edward Taylor, Shaun Taylor (Joe Boshart); grandchildren, Edward Taylor, Donna Taylor, Erica Taylor, Jacob Green, and Chloe Taylor; and seven great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her sister, Donna Rosenberger; brother, Donald Hogan; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Linda Lambertson, in 2017, and her oldest granddaughter, Nicole Stivale-Martin, in 2021.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 6 PM, Thursday, November 3rd, at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park.

Graveside services and burial will take place at 1 PM, Friday November 4th, at Rock City Falls Cemetery, 1033 Rock City Road, Rock City Falls, NY.
