Mary Richie, 93, a long-time resident of Hyde Park, died on Tuesday, December 6, 2022.

Born December 18, 1928, in Albany, she was the daughter of Walter and Catherine Dee Frederick.

Mary worked as a secretary in the Transportation Department of the Hyde Park Central School District for many years until her retirement.

Her hobbies included reading and doing arts and crafts.

On January 14, 1950, in Westfield, NY, she married Frank J. Richie. Her husband predeceased her.

Survivors include her three daughters, Gail Carter and husband, Gregory, of Poughkeepsie, Lynne Richie South of Georgia, and Karen Richie Veronesi of North Carolina.

Mary is also survived by four grandchildren, Christopher Veronesi, Michele Zarrilli, Eric Rueping, and Ralph Thorne III; one sister, Yvonne Blanch, of Albany; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, two brothers predeceased her.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 6 PM, Friday, December 9th, at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park. A funeral service will be held at 5:30 PM during the visitation.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation will follow.
