Mary Batson, of Pleasant Valley, New York, beloved wife, sister, mother, and grandmother, passed away at home on April 2, 2023, at the age of 65.

Mary was born December 14, 1957, in Wheaton, IL to the late Theodore and Anna May Maas, who she loved very much. She grew up alongside 4 siblings, and spent time in Illinois, Arkansas, and later Florida. One fateful year, she visited her brother in New York, met her brother's roommate Warren, and never left. The two were married on August 7, 1982. Together, they raised two loving children.

Mary was always at her happiest when others were happy, when they had everything, they needed, and more. She spent many years as a stay-at-home mother. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, watching Hallmark with her husband, and watching Survivor.

Mary is survived and missed dearly by many including her husband of 40 years, Warren, and their children: Nicholas Batson and his wife Holli, of Hyde Park, NY, and Christine Snyder and her husband Daniel, of Albany, NY. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Anna-Belle and Noah Batson, and Corey Snyder; and her siblings: Theodore Maas, Susan Gatz and Holly Burnette; along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She is predeceased by her sister, Pamela Rompa.

Relatives and friends may call from 10am to 12pm on Monday, April 10, 2023, at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., 4365 Albany Post Road, Hyde Park, NY 12538. Funeral services will begin at 12pm with the Rev. Jeffrey Koenig, officiating. Interment will follow the service at Union Cemetery, Hyde Park, NY.

Those wishing to send flowers are encouraged to send carnations, which were Mary's favorite. Those wishing to make a donation in lieu of flowers are encouraged to make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, where she often donated, or to Hudson Valley Hospice, who made it possible for Mary to spend the last months of her life at home with her husband.
