Marie Teresa Richard of Rhinebeck, New York died on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Sharon Hospital in Connecticut just shy of her 85th birthday.  Born on December 27, 1936, in Poughkeepsie, NY, she was the daughter of deceased Pasquale Colucci and Domenica (Panessa) Colucci.   She married John Charles Richard on October 15, 1955, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Poughkeepsie. They were married for 52 years before John died on June 13, 2007.   Prior to retirement, Marie worked at SUNY Binghamton as support staff for administration.  Surviving her are her children, Renee Rizzi and her husband, Fortunato, of Rhinebeck, NY, Lisa  Mack and her husband, James, of Binghamton, NY, John-Paul Richard of San Diego, CA, Mark  Richard and his wife, Tamara, of Binghamton, NY and Christopher Richard and his wife, Kathy, of Vestal, NY as well as her brother, Donald Vito Colucci, and sister-in-law, Marie.   Marie had 13 grandchildren, Anne Marie McCaffrey, Katie Khakhar, Peter Rizzi, James Mack, Erin Slavik, John Mack, Kerry Mack, Mark Vincent Richard, Daniel Richard, Zachary Richard, Demenica Richard, Meghan Richard and Albert Richard.  She also leaves behind 6 great-grandchildren, Leo McCaffrey, Jack McCaffrey, Emilia McCaffrey, Dante Khakhar, Finn Khakhar and George Slavik.   Additionally, Marie had a very large extended family, all of whom will keep her in their thoughts and prayers.  A private funeral service was celebrated at St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Red Hook, NY.   Marie's family respectfully requests memorial donations to the charity of your choice.  Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
