Lynnette Jess Gibson, of Salt Point, passed away on August 11th, 2026, with her family by her side.

Born September 3, 1950, in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late Wesley Carson and Shirley Heinze Carson.

Lynnette was born and raised in Staatsburg and spent much of her life in the Hudson Valley. She worked as a clean room technician for IBM in Fishkill before her retirement. Following retirement, she went on to work for the Hyde Park Central School District, driving buses for handicapped students.

After graduating from Beauty school, she went on to marry William Gibson Sr. on August 23, 1969. Mr. Gibson survives at home. Together, they shared many years of memories.

In addition to her husband, Lynnette is survived by her two sons, Craig Gibson and his wife, Lisa, and William Gibson Jr. and his wife, Michelle; and five grandchildren.

She is also survived by her siblings, Wesley Dean Carson, Steven Wayne Carson, Susan White, Paul Carson, Laura Carson, and Audrey Carson.

Lynnette will be remembered for the life she built with her husband, the family she raised, and the many years she spent working and living in the Hudson Valley.

Calling hours will be from 1 to 4 PM, Sunday, August 16th at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
