Leonaris Villegas Martinez, 65, a resident of Staatsburg, died on September 24, 2022, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie following a lengthy illness.

Born November 15, 1956, in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, he was the son of Juan and Aida Martinez Villegas.

He was a self-employed Master Mechanic in Puerto Rico before moving to the United States.

On January 13, 2013, he married Monserrate Valentin Burgos. His wife survives at home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his five children, Greska Stuart of Mississippi, Isaac Villegas of New York, Johnathan Villegas of Florida, Leoric Villegas of North Dakota, and Leonaris Villegas of Florida; and numerous grandchildren.

A period of visitation will be from 2 - 3:30 PM, Tuesday, September 27th at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park. Funeral services will follow at 3:30 PM with Pastor Cesar Burdie officiating.
