Lawrence R. Milby, 85, a longtime resident of Staatsburg, died on October 6, 2021, following a brief illness at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. Born July 23, 1936, in Jamaica, Queens, he was the son of Harold and Louise Farley Milby. Larry proudly served in the United States Air Force in the mid to late 1950's. On March 30, 1958, in Jamaica, Queens, he married his beloved wife Ann M. Kruger. Mrs. Milby survives at home in Staatsburg. Mr. Milby worked as a Sales Representative for Central Hudson for over twenty years until his retirement. When his children were young, Larry was active in their sporting activities, coaching both baseball and softball. He also was the "team photographer" for FDR Football when his son, Rob, played. In recent years, Larry and his wife, Ann, would spend winters in Texas, and while there, he could often be found by Ann's side helping poor children in the community by bringing them much needed items like clothes and shoes. Larry was always Ann's biggest supporter. In addition to his wife, survivors include his daughter, Jeanette Spoleti and husband, Joe; daughter, Donna Milby; son, Robert Milby; seven grandchildren, Anthony, Marissa, Shonna, Loralie, Tysheena, Tyree, and Logan; and three great grandchildren with one on the way. Larry is also survived by his sister, Vivian Chan; brother, Franklin Milby and wife Karen. "Uncle Larry" was also loved by and will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Larry will also be missed by many long-time family friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his three brothers, Richard, Harold, and Jack Milby; and beloved grandson, Corey. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial calling hours will be from 4 to 6 Pm, Thursday, November 4th at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park. Larry will be entombed, at a private ceremony, with military honors at the Gerald B. H. Solomon National Cemetery in Saratoga.
