Poughkeepsie – Kyshon J. Robinson, 12, a lifelong Poughkeepsie resident, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 with his family by his side.
Born on December 5, 2008 in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of Jasmine Robinson. His mother and stepmother, Ebony Galloway, (who has been by his side since he was 3 years old) survive at home.
A student at Poughkeepsie Middle School, Kyshon loved all his family and friends. Despite his health challenges, he always had a smile on his face and a fighting spirit. He called himself "the Incredible Hulk" as he was going to his chemotherapy session. He loved to play video games, have family over, and spend time with his animals: 2 dogs named Scarface and Sky, and 2 cats named Titty Titty and Rhino.
Kyshon was a free-spirited, loving boy who loved to be outdoors and spend time down by the river. To know him was to love him. Everyone that came in contact with him fell in love with his well-mannered and uplifting personality. He was truly loved and will be missed.
Survivors include his brothers, Mike and Kyh; sister, Mymy; great-grandparents, Karen Cline Hayes and Joshua Hayes; maternal grandmother, Holli Robinson; maternal grandfather, Dion Johnson; uncles, Divine Sr., and Marquise; aunts, Stephanie, Tiara, Lucia, Kim, and Jen; and cousins, Yahmire, Divine Jr., Milani, Avi, Bryan, Alex, and Jamaia.
He is also survived by his best friend, Dynasty; godmother, Kaya; godfather, Sticky; and Ebony's mother, Cricket.
The Robinson family would like to extend thanks to the members of Kyshon's medical team for taking such good care of him over the years, especially Dr. Mohan, Dr. Tobias, Carrie Mortone, NP, Michelle Patrick, NP, Barbara McLain, Social Worker, and Melissa and Karen from Hudson Valley Hospice.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial calling hours will be from 7 to 9 Pm, Saturday, June 5th at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park. A celebration of Kyshon's life will be held at 8 PM.
