On September 19th, 2023, Heaven gained a special angel when Kevin Michael Gallagher passed away unexpectedly, at his home, in Pleasant Valley. Kevin joined his beloved wife, Sallyann, and his son, Christopher.

Kevin was born on June 15th, 1940 in the Bronx. He was the son of the late Thomas and Margaret Mulcahy Gallagher.

After serving his country in the United States Army from 1958-1962, Kevin went on to work for the New York State Police for 34 years where he was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant before his retirement.

Kevin was known by his family as the "Yes Man", oftentimes running to any store whenever a single ingredient was needed for dinner, regardless of the time.

In his free time, Kevin loved being with his family, always putting them first and doing anything he could to help them. He loved golfing, reading mystery novels and the newspaper, and being in his grandchildren's lives who were his pride and joy.

A communicant of Regina Coeli Church and a devout catholic, Kevin was a quiet, selfless, and humble man, who adored sitting in a comfortable chair, listening to the many stories his loved ones would tell.

On February 8th, 1964, in St. Patrick's Cathedral, Kevin married the former Sallyann O'Malley. Kevin and Sallyann were married for 57 years, she predeceased him on October 19th, 2021.

Kevin is survived by his two daughters, Maureen Constable and husband Steve of Hyde Park, and Colleen Wilber and husband Dan of Millbrook, as well as brothers, Tommy Gallagher of Colorado, Peter Gallagher of Michigan and his supportive and loving sister, Peggy of New Jersey.

Kevin was also affectionately known as Poppy to his four grandchildren, Megan and Riley Constable and Jake and Abby Wilber, and niece and nephew, Kristine Kalinowski and Keith Nichols and their children. Kevin will be forever missed but his family is at peace knowing that he is reunited with the love of his life.

Calling hours will be held from 3:00pm to 5:00pm on Saturday, September 23rd, 2023 at Sweet's Funeral Home, 4365 Albany Post Rd, Hyde Park, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00am on Monday, September 25th, 2023 at Regina Coeli Church, 2 Harvey Street, Hyde Park, NY.

Burial of his cremains will follow in the family plot at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
