Katherine
Harris
Mar 15, 1992 — Apr 16, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Katherine "Katie" Harris. A
native of Hyde Park, New York, Katie was born on March 15, 1992, and left us on April 16,
2023, at the age of 31.
Throughout her high school years, Katie was a passionate cheerleader who brought joy and
spirit to every game. Her love for cheerleading paved the way for her love of dance and
movement. After high school, Katie pursued her passion for beauty and became a talented
makeup artist and aesthetician. She had a natural eye for color, style, and design, which she
used to make people feel beautiful and confident.
Katie was an avid reader and could often be found with her nose buried in a book. She loved to
explore different worlds and perspectives through literature. She was always up for an
adventure and loved to travel and experience new things. She also had a deep love for music
and could often be found singing and dancing along to her favorite songs. Katie had an
infectious smile, joyful laughter, and an unwavering loyalty. She also had an incredible sense of
humor, a sharp wit, and an unmatched prankster spirit.
Katie was a bold and fearless woman wo spoke her mind and never hesitated to share her
thoughts and opinions. Her ambition, determination, and focus were unmatched. She dreamed
of living in New York City from a young age, and after years of hard work and determination, she
made that dream a reality. She loved the energy and excitement of the city and eventually made
Brooklyn her home.
Katie's memory will be cherished by her mother, Kim Richtmyer Harris, brothers, Greg and
Conor, Aunt, Jennifer Richtmyer Barton, cousin, Andrew Barton, and Uncles, Richard Richtmyer,
Miguel Ortiz-Crane, and Benny Vasquez. Katie's legacy will also live on through the countless
lives she touched and the impact she made throughout her extended family, circle of close-knit
friends, and community. She will always be remembered as a shining light who lived life to the
fullest and inspired those around her to do the same.
Katie is predeceased by her father, Gary Harris. Rest in peace, Katie, we love you.
