Hyde Park- June G. Severing was born on June 10, 1922 in Summitville, New York and died Thursday April 21, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was the daughter of Dr. John C. and Elizabeth Davis Pearson of Phillipsport, New York. Mrs. Severing worked as a legal secretary for Gellert and Cutler for 23 years retiring in 1987. She was a graduate of Ellenville High School, class of 1939. She married Leo J. Severing on October 31, 1942 at St. Mary's Church in Ellenville, New York. Mr. Severing survives at home. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Maureen J. Creeden and husband Ronald of Hyde Park; Carol S. Severing, of Stone Ridge; son, Raymond L. Severing of Woodstock; and grandson, Andrew Henry Severing. June was an avid reader and train enthusiast. She enjoyed her cats and always instilled in us her love for all living creatures. The Severings were fortunate that they did so many things as a family. There were picnics, long day trips and many country rides. Leo and June would spend hours by the beautiful Hudson River, hoping to see a passing train. They knew the train schedule by heart. June's loving spirit will be missed by all.
