On August 15, 1976, she married the love of her life, Daniel J. Aguiar at St. Paul's Chapel on the campus of Columbia University. Mr. Aguiar, a Columbia graduate who taught in the NYC school system, survives at home.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by brother, Kenneth of Tallahassee FL, and several nieces and nephews.
