Judith Mae Decker, 86, a lifelong resident of Hyde Park, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 1, 2024.

Born November 27, 1937, in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late Paul Thomas Cookinham and Virginia Elizabeth Merritt Cookinham.

On February 5, 1955, she married the love of her life Richard W. Decker Sr. They were married for 67 years before he predeceased her on March 26, 2022.

She held several jobs throughout her lifetime in addition to raising her family.

Judith loved to travel, dine out and cook for her family and friends. An animal lover, she adored the cats and dogs she had over the years.

Survivors include her son, Richard W. Decker, Jr.; daughter, Katherine Decker; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Leonard Decker in 1996.

Relatives and friends may call from 10 AM to 12 NOON on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park. Funeral services will follow at 12 NOON with Rev. Arlene Dawber officiating.

Entombment will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
