Obituary

Town of Clinton - Joyce E. Armstrong, 90, a Town of Clinton resident for over 70 years, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2022, at home with her family by her side. Born February 8, 1932, in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of Joseph and Albina Peruce Levesque. She attended St. Vincent's Girls Catholic School in Albany. In 1949, in Poughkeepsie, she married Warren G. Armstrong Sr. Her husband predeceased her on September 8, 2019. As her children got older, Joyce entered the workforce. She worked at the former Atlantic Design and then at Fargo Manufacturing, both in Poughkeepsie. She worked at Fargo for many years until her retirement. Joyce was a member of the Women of the Moose, Poughkeepsie Lodge #904, and attended the Clinton Alliance Church. Family was very important to Joyce. Her husband and children were her world. In her last days, her children returned the love and care that she always gave them by working together to make sure Joyce could pass peacefully at home. None of this would have been possible without the tender care and compassion of Joyce's Hospice team. The Armstrong family sends special thanks to those special people. She is survived by six children, Warren J. Armstrong of Montana, Linda C. Ostrander and husband, David, of Florida, Judy T. Bond, and husband, David, of Tennessee, Thomas H. Armstrong of the Town of Clinton, Karen M. Armstrong of the Town of Clinton, and Barbara J. DeBonis and husband, Paul, of Salt Point. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Shannon, Tonia, Tim, David, Jocelyn, Joey, Rissa, Brianna, Thomas, Jeremy, Josh, Anthony, and Christopher; twenty-two great-grandchildren; a brother; a sister; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, David Armstrong; a grandson, Jason Armstrong; and one sister and two brothers. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, March 26th at the Clinton Alliance Church, 1192 Centre Road, Rhinebeck. Rev. Thomas Hartley will officiate. Joyce's family respectfully requests memorial donations to the Hudson Valley Hospice Foundation, 80 Washington Street, Suite 204, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
