Joseph A.
Grosso
Sep 27, 1981 — Feb 8, 2025
It is with an extremely heavy heart that we announce the passing of Joseph Anthony Grosso, our beloved son and brother, who left this world on February 8, 2025, at the age of 43. This sudden and unimaginable loss is felt deeply by all those who knew and loved him.
The core of Joseph's character was rooted in a loyalty and commitment to his family and his career. And while the world may continue turning, the spheres in which he was a part will never be the same.
Joseph was born on September 27, 1981, in Van Nuys, California, to Anthony and Christine Grosso. One of 4 children, his family was the cornerstone of his world. He will be forever missed by his siblings, Elizabeth, Michael C., and Michael G..
In a world that wanders, Joseph was a focused force even from a young age. He always seemed to know exactly who he was and what he wanted. He began his career in graphics and special effects in LA where he climbed the ladder and developed a robust skillset in editorial finishing.
After sparking a successful start, he left Los Angeles for NYC to further develop a thriving and fulfilling career as a Graphic Artist at Cut and Run. Inside those walls, Joseph was a dedicated, diligent, and disciplined team player, adored and supported by his colleagues. His commercial work has been seen by people all over the world.
Personally, Joseph was a lover of good food, good drinks, and a good time. He always had a song queued for karaoke, loved dancing, and lived to tell a laugh-filled story. He also knew his way around a restaurant menu and delighted in treating those he loved. In the eyes of all who knew him, his smile was the brightest light in every room.
He was a discrete and generous philanthropist, donating regularly to the Botanical Garden, and sponsoring a child through Children's International. Like many of the beautiful, understated ways he contributed to the world, he donated privately, without the need or desire for recognition or praise.
To say that he is gone too soon does not begin to capture the grief that has darkened our world. The ways in which Joseph has touched our lives and the lives of all those who knew him will continue to be discovered in the days to come.
In honoring Joseph's life, we remember not just the pain of his passing but the pure joy he brought to each day. Rest in peace, our beloved Joseph. We will love and miss you forever.
To those interested in celebrating Joseph's legacy for giving, we suggest donating to his two chosen charities, Children's International, PO Box 219055, Kansas City, MO 64121 (www.children.org) and/or the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, 1000 Washington Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11225. (www.bbg.org)
