Salt Point - John  Schenk Jr., 74, a lifelong area resident, died on Monday, October 4, 2021, at the Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital of Westchester Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. Born July 29, 1947, in Manhattan, he was the son of John Schenk Sr. and Marion Kading Schenk. A graduate of Dutchess Community College, John worked as an Estimating Manager for the former Hamilton Reproductions in Poughkeepsie and was a member of the International Typographical Union. John was also a proud member of the National Rifle Association. Survivors include his nephew, Brian Schenk, and wife, Dawny Price, of Evans City, PA; niece, Sarah Schenk, of Greenville, SC; and great nieces, Brianna Schenk of Fountain Inn , SC, and Dominique Price of State College, PA. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Robert Schenk. There are no calling hours. Graveside services and burial will be at 11 AM, Saturday, October 9th at Union Cemetery, 1076 Violet Ave., Hyde Park. Rev. Arlene Dawber will officiate.
