John W. Gleason III, age 90, of the Town of Hyde Park, NY, passed away on November 30, 2023.

John was born in Kingston, NY on December 28, 1932, to John W. and Lillian (Teetsel) Gleason.

John is survived by his wife, Janine E. (Lowery) Gleason; stepdaughter, Susan E. Ogden; stepson, David Ogden and wife, Gina; granddaughters, Kimberly Muszynski and Cindy Loizzo, and their families, and grandsons, Bruce and Charles Miller and their families.

John served in the US Army during the Korean War. Upon his honorable discharge, John was a valued and involved member of his community. He participated in golf tournaments which raised money for veteran charities.

John was a lifelong resident of the Dutchess County area. John was a golf professional for 73 years. He was employed at both the College Hill and Vassar Golf Courses in Poughkeepsie.

John was a devoted husband to his wife Janine of 64 years and father to his four stepchildren. He enjoyed outside activities including camping, hunting, fishing and gardening.

John was predeceased by his stepson, William J. Ogden, and stepdaughter, Janine deMartine.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of John's life is pending.
