Jean M. Symolon, 82, a lifelong resident of Hyde Park, died on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Regional Hospice of Danbury, Connecticut.

Born, June 12, 1942, in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Lois Crum.

On December 17th, 1961, in Hyde Park she married John Symolon. Mr. Symolon predeceased her on December 26th, 2002.

Jean loved taking care of those around her and being involved with her children, becoming a lunch monitor in the schools as they were growing up.

Later in life she enjoyed gardening, watching birds of all kinds, whether in person or on live cameras around the country. She also enjoyed the companionship of many cats she had throughout her lifetime.

She is survived by her three children, Laurie Foerschler and husband Michael, Nancy Richardson and husband Robert and Thomas Symolon and partner Kristen ; two grandchildren that she adored, Jonathan Foerschler and Sarah Stroffolino, and her beloved cat Trixie.

She is also survived by her sister Vicki Nord and brother Larry Crum and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 4PM to 7PM, on Friday, July 26, 2024, at Sweet's Funeral Home, 4365 Albany Post Rd., Hyde Park, NY.

Funeral services and entombment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
