James Torreggiani, 62, a longtime Hyde Park resident, formerly of Wappingers Falls, New York died Tuesday September 30, 2025, at Hudson Valley Hospice with his brother Al by his side.

He was born in 1962 in Yonkers, New York. He was the son of Alfred Torreggiani Sr. and Mary Aiello Torreggiani.

He was formerly married to Tammy Messina and has two children, Angela Marie and JJ (James) Torreggiani.

James received his sacraments at Mt. Carmel and St Anthony Parish in Yonkers, NY.

James was a brilliant organist/pianist. He taught himself to play many instruments and would listen to songs and be able to recite them just by hearing them. He would often play Bach just by listening.

In his younger years James was involved in various bands and even helped the band secure a record label.

He also had a beautiful sense of humor. He was so funny and enjoyed sharing his sense of humor with all those he met.

James is survived by his five siblings Frances Woodruff and husband Allen of Modena; Susan Rinaldi and husband Steve of Greentown PA; Alfred Torreggiani and wife Jennifer of Hyde Park; Kenneth Torreggiani and wife Kathy of Saratoga; and Billy Torreggiani and wife Kathy from Modena.

He is also survived by his two beautiful children, Angela Marie and JJ, and many grandchildren.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, October 9th from 4pm to 7pm at Sweet's Funeral Home, 4365 Albany Post Rd. Hyde Park, NY 12538.

A funeral service will take place at 10am on Friday, October 10th at the Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Union Cemetery of Hyde Park.
