James Anthony Gaches, 62, of Poughkeepsie, died unexpectedly on Tuesday January 2, 2024, at Vassar Bros. Hospital in Poughkeepsie.

Born, October 12, 1961, in the Bronx, he was the son of Anastas Gaches and the late Rosemarie Tatlian Gaches.

James was 1979 Graduate of FDR High School, after graduating, he went on to take classes at Dutchess Community College.

In April of 1997, he married MaryAnn Boninni, MaryAnn predeceased him.

James was a movie buff and a "old soul" who often could name the actors in the movies he watched. He was also an antique collector, but most of all he enjoyed cars and was known by his family and friends as being a car enthusiast.

James is survived by his father Anastas Gaches, sister Deborah and partner Andre Pimienta, and nephew Bryce Anthony Eckwall; and niece, Morgan Rose Eckwall.

Calling hours will be on Monday, January 8th, from 4PM to 7PM at Sweet's Funeral Home, 4365 Albany Post Rd, Hyde Park, NY 12538.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
