Homer "Butch" Markle Jr., 73, of Hyde Park, died unexpectedly on Friday, October 21, 2022.

Born June 27, 1949, in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of the late Homer Markle Sr. and Beatrice Hopkins Markle.

Butch worked for I.B.M. as a Forklift Operator for many years before his retirement in 2002.

Butch enjoyed collecting DVD's and CD's, hiking, playing cards, reading, watching western movies, and fishing with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his two daughters, Janeen Sonnenberg of Poughkeepsie, and Jamie Day of Staatsburg; four grandchildren, Tyler and Trista Sonnenberg, and Brianna and Braiden Day.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his grandson, Trevor Sonnenberg, and son-in-law, Michael Day.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place.
