His father predeceased him in 2013 and his mother survives in Staatsburg.   He was a 1967 graduate of F. D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park. With his wife by his side, he loved to take trips to the casino, go on cruises, and play trivia. He could often be found tinkering in his workshop. One of his latest projects was a golf cart that he rebuilt and customized.    On August 15, 1970, in the Pleasant Valley Methodist Church, he married the former Leslie D. Simpson. His wife of over fifty years survives at home.  Along with his wife and mother, he is survived by his two sons, Jason Ward, and Joshua Ward and wife, Margaret, all of Staatsburg; two granddaughters, Sarah and Melissa; brother, Reggie Ward Jr. and wife, Rose, of Staatsburg, and their son, Ryan, of California.  He is also survived by several other nieces, nephews, and many cousins.  In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his niece, Shannon.  Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 PM, Sunday, October 24th at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park. A prayer service will be held during the visitation. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM, Monday, October 25th at the Funeral Home with Pastor Jan Fritzinger officiating.  Burial will follow in the family plot at Union Cemetery of Hyde Park.  In lieu of flowers, Harold's family respectfully requests memorial donations to the Hudson Valley Hospice Foundation, 80 Washington Street, Suite 204, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. www.hvhospice.org To send an online condolence, or for directions, please visit Harry's obituary page at www.sweetsfuneralhome.com .
