Harold Sachson of Staatsburg passed away at home on March 29, 2026, following a brief illness arising from complications of Lewy Body Dementia. He was 76.

Harold was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1949. He attended SUNY New Paltz, where he majored in secondary education and pitched for the baseball team. After graduating in 1971, he remained in the Hudson Valley, teaching social studies in the Wappingers Central School District for over 30 years. He raised his family in Staatsburg, where he enthusiastically followed and participated in their many endeavors, including FDR High School crew, gymnastics, soccer and tennis, Hyde Park Swim and Tennis Club swim team, JG Dance, and Hyde Park town soccer.

Harold is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Sachson, his son Brian and his partner Alyson Sohigian, his daughter Maggie, his daughter Molly and her partner Michael Buccino, and his grandchildren Grey and Gwen Buccino.

In addition, he is survived by his brother Steven and his wife Terry, his sister-in-law Jane Bernstein and her husband Kenneth, 4 nephews, 2 nieces, and a lifetime of wonderful friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Abraham and Millie Sachson.

A Celebration of Life will be held later this year.
