Poughkeepsie - Grace A. Cimorelli Baxter Denning, 73, a lifelong area resident, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center with her family by her side. Before raising a family, Mrs. Denning worked at Smith Bros. on North Hamilton Street for several years. Grace was a member of the Arlington American Legion Unit #1302 in Poughkeepsie and a communicant of St. Peter's Church, Hyde Park. She was very close to her sisters, Elvira 'Midgie' DuBois, and Marion Paonessa. Born in Poughkeepsie on March 18, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Augustus Cimorelli, Sr. and Mary Cline Cimorelli. She attended Poughkeepsie Schools. She was married to Raymond B. Baxter for twenty-nine years. He predeceased her in 1986. On September 6, 1987 in the Town of Poughkeepsie, she married Edward P. Denning. Mr. Denning survives at home. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons, Raymond E. Baxter and wife, Kimberly, of Hyde Park, and Christopher M. Baxter and fiancée, Toni Russo, of Red Hook; former daughter-in-law, Lisa Baxter Conrad and husband, Henry Conrad, of Poughkeepsie; four grandchildren, Raymond, Shawn, Michael, and Kaydryn Baxter; one great grandson, Shane Baxter; brother, Charles 'Bucky' Cimorelli and companion, Diane Wilson of Hyde Park, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her first husband, she was predeceased by her four sisters, Florence Shaw, Rose Burbas, Elvira 'Midgie' DuBois, and Marion Paonessa; and three brothers, Gus 'Moonie' Cimorelli, Joseph Cimorelli, and Angelo Cimorelli. Calling hours will be from 10 am to 12 noon, Monday, September 13, 2010 at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park. Funeral services will follow at 12 Noon at the funeral home with Monsignor John Brinn officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
