George Edward Ose, 90, of Hyde Park, New York died on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Taconic Rehabilitation and Nursing at Hopewell at Fishkill, New York.

Born Tuesday, June 9, 1936, in Huntington, NY. George was raised in Highland, NY and worked at Western Printing, Poughkeepsie, NY, as a print journeyman. He opened Georgie O's Tavern, Hyde Park, NY, in 1976. George was an avid golfer, billiards player and huge fan of his horses!

He proudly served as Airman 1st Class in the Air Force from December 11, 1953 - October 1, 1957.

George leaves behind three children, Elaine (Richard) Cullen, Christine (Donald) Smith, and Clayton Ose, sister, Elizabeth 'Betty' Ose, grandchildren, Tracy Cullen (Troy) Williams, Trevor Cullen, Donald Smith, III, Casey (Jerod) Squires, Brandon (Lindsay) Smith and many nieces and nephews, all of whom loved and cared for him. George also leaves behind a countless number of beloved friends from his work and the community,

In addition to his parents, Alfred Thomas Ose, Sr. and Mary Beck Ose, George was preceded by his sister, Carolyn (Ose) Duffy; brother, Joseph Ose; brother, Alfred T. Ose, Jr.; brother, Robert Ose; sister, Lorraine (Ose) Banning and brother, William C. Ose, Sr.

Calling hours will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9., Hyde Park, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 29, 2026, Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel, 185 Hudson View Dr., Poughkeepsie, NY. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, Poughkeepsie, NY.
