Francis L. Paduano, 76, of Dutchess County, died on Tuesday, August 17, 2021
Born Wednesday, January 17, 1945 in the Bronx, he was the oldest son of Louis Paduano and Theresa Corrado Paduano.
On April 23, 1965 in St. Francis of Rome Church in the Bronx he married Eleanor Paduano, his neighboring childhood sweetheart.
Francis and his wife Eleanor owned and operated My-Hero Pizzeria and Sub Shop serving New Paltz college and community for more than 41 years before they retired. A bitter sweet decision as the people they employed, the memories collected and their patrons were special to them.
Francis was an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed watching football, boxing and baseball. Deep sea fishing , playing cards, chess and learning about antiques brought him joy. A man who appreciated a good cup of coffee, a discovered sale and music of an earlier time. Most of all, he took pride in anything that included spending time with his family and close friends.
Along with his wife of 55 years, he leaves behind his two children, Ronald Paduano, and wife Janice, of Pleasant Valley: Christine Bolander and husband Joe, of Pleasant Valley. Three grandchildren, Katlyn, Eleanor, and Michael Bolander, and one sister, Marilyn Paduano.
Along with his parents he was also predeceased by his granddaughter Stephanie Bolander, sister Rita Paduano, and brother Robert Corrado.
Burial of his cremains will take place during a private memorial service during these times of health crisis to protect all.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
