Francine M. Gardner, 71, of Hyde Park, formerly of Matthews, NC, died on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie.

Born, August 10, 1951, in Gloversville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Marie Azzara Cortese.

Francine worked for Vassar Bothers Hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Certified Nursing Technician for many years before her retirement.

She loved being in North Carolina where she spent time with her family and friends.

On April 28th, 1973, at Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie, she married the love of her life Charles Maurice Gardner who predeceased her in 1998. She is now reunited with him where they can continue their journey as soulmates together.

She is survived by her only daughter, Maria Gardner, of Charlotte, NC, sisters Josie Maroney of Hyde Park, and Rose Pierson and husband John of Mt. Airy, NC.

She is also survived by her four beloved godchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Along with her husband she was predeceased by her sister Carol Hart and husband Rick, brother in law Keith Maroney, sister-in-law's, Judy Conners, Bobbie Lofaro and husband Ralph.

In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place.

Calling hours will be on Monday December 5th from 3 to 5pm at Sweet's Funeral Home, 4365 Albany Post Rd. Hyde Park, NY 12538.

A service will take place at 4:45pm during the calling hours.

Francine's family respectfully requests memorial donations to American Cancer Society.
