Frances "Fran" Neilson 82 a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, died on April 16, 2022. She was born on March 12, 1940, at St Francis Hospital, the daughter of Jeannette DeMichael and Peter Scurco. Everyone knew her as Fran. Her first job was at the Planters Peanut store on Main Street where she met the love of her life Jack. She also worked for New York Telephone Co., Wallace's and Roe Movers, where she retired. She was married at Saint Stanislaus Church in Pleasant Valley to the love of her life for 62 years before he passed on January 9, 2022. Family and friends were very important to her. She brought so much joy to everyone. She was a very loving, caring, compassionate person as well as a good listener who always had a smile on her face so she would brighten anyone's day that was feeling down. We lost the heart and soul of our family. She taught us unconditional love. She will live on forever in our hearts. She said to please do not cry for her, she will always be by our side watching over us all. She is survived by her son, John Neilson Jr.; daughter, Michele Dymun, and son-in-law, David; son-in-law, Douglas Blauvelt; grandchildren, Jason Neilson and wife, Sarah, their son, Benjamin (her great-grandson); grandson, Joshua Blauvelt, and his partner, Tyler Svoboda; and grandson, Patrick Blauvelt; her sister, Lucille Beverly and children as well as many nephews, and niece, Jeannette Roseakranz (whom she loved as much as her being her own daughter) and her partner, Dell Simmons. Fran is predeceased by her mother, Jeannette DeMichael; her father, Peter Scurco; brother, Theodore DeMichael; sister, Grace Bowman; her husband, John Neilson Sr.; her daughter, Lorraine Blauvelt, who loved Angels and was a wonderful Angel as well; and nephew, Frank Bowman.
